Easter bunnies silhouette

I was without an electronic paper cutter for quite some time and lost my mojo but now with my new Silhouette Cameo I am cutting up again.
I thought it was only fitting to cut a silhouette image out with my Silhouette machine.
I chose to use a svg from Denise's Scrapbooking Room blog. Here is the link to her fantastic blog and cutting file http://dscrapbookingroom.blogspot.com/2011/04/easter-card-with-box.html.

Dressing Screen Card

I recently bought a Silhoutte Cameo cutting machine and wanted to make an intricate paper piece to give the machine a workout since it is suppose to be so good at cutting. Well untold hours later I produced this card but I had to use my SCAL 3 program because most of my cutting files are svgs and I can't import svgs to the Cameo without buying their 50 dollar Design Studio Edition. One of the issues I was having using scal and cutting with cameo was I had to make adjustments to my blade depth, pressure and speed since I didn't really know how this machine cut paper and cardstock. Changing the blade depth to match the type of paper used is really a pain in the neck because you don't just turn the dial like you do on the cricut, you have to take it out and use the little rachet thingy to turn to the number, I used the default options for speed and pressure but I think I need to work on these so I can get better cuts. I couldn't find the multi cut option on scal 3 like there was on scal 2, oy vey.

Cissy is also doing the same idea for a card and I can't wait to see what she comes up with. So without further ado
I am showing this card at

Tent style card

Hi there everybody in the blogosphere- it's Fran here- it seems like I fell off the planet but I am back with a card I made for my sister's birthday. Hope it inspires you to make one because it is so easy.

To make the card I used 3 pieces of cardstock- I made my card A2 size (4 1/4 X 5 1/2) landscape orientation and one piece of decorative paper.
  1. To make the bottom tent piece cut one piece of cardstock to 4 x 5 1/2 and score every one inch on the shorter side so you end up with 4 one inch scores- then make a mountain fold- the two ends will be where you attach the front and back of the card.
  2. Cut 2 pieces of cardstock to A2 size and one A2 size decorative paper piece.
  3. Glue the decorative paper to one of the pieces-that will be the front of your card. I cut a 2 1/2" circle in my decorative paper and cardstock so I could dangle my sentiment.
  4. Glue the 2 pieces to the tent piece.
  5. The top of the card is now open so to secure the two pieces together I used brads but you could just as easily glue it shut.
  6. Next I stamped a 2" circle with a birthday sentiment and attached it to the card with jump rings.
I  hope this idea is one you can use too.
