Another Butterfly Card

I really enjoy creating cards with a butterfly motif. They really make a card pretty. I have 3 friends with birthdays in February so I have to get out my butterfly net and round up some pretty ones for my cards.

Here is the first one for a friend who loves purple.

I used watercolor paper to stamp and color with copic markers one of the stamps from the Anna Griffin 18th Century Garden stamp series.
I used Sizzix's stamp and die-cut "Framelits" butterflies #3 to create the butterflies. Some stickles and copic coloring on the butterflies made them really pop. They were attached to Spellbinders die fancy tag two.
Some paper source 1/4 inch cream ribbon and Martha Stewart's arch punch completes the recipe.

Merry and Bright

As I was thinking about what kind of card I wanted to make for my Christmas cards this year, my mind was still on the glamour and glitz challenge.

So I whipped out my Lifestyle Crafts Letterpress equipment and using silver ink and silver rhinestones I played around until I found my christmas muse and it became merry and bright!

I love the debossed look of the dots from the letterpress plate on heavy weight, high cotton paper. I used my trusty silhouette cameo to make the sentiment and it's shadow and bada bling, bada boom the angels began to sing.

I will enter this card into the challenges for bling and texture.

A big thank you to Cissy for helping me find these challenges. Everyone must have a crafting girlfriend to share every craft idea that comes along!!!

Dwell in Possibility

Here is a card I made using my new Anna Griffin 18th Century stamps and my new SU designer frames embossing folder and punch.

 The stamp was colored with copic markers Y15, R83, R85, BV02, BV31.

I  went looking for a challenge to enter this card into; no easy task to find during the holiday season.
But I did find a couple that wanted bling, so out came the rhinestones and now it is good to submit there, an anything goes (love those challenges, so easy to enter) and a texture challenge cause I have some embossing on the card.

Leonardo DaVinci Vitruvian Man card

I am entering this in the Frilly and Funkie Renaissance Man Challenge at http://frillyandfunkie.blogspot.com/2012/07/renaissance-men.html

This is what I came up with after watching Tim Holtz videos on alcohol ink techniques.

The blue background was made by dropping the alcohol ink colors stream , butterscotch and mixatives copper onto glossy white cardstock and with the felt applicator tool pounced the colors all around, then using the alcohol blending solution to spread out the color and achieve the desired effects.  To make the "leopard spots" strip, I needed to make my own stamp pad so I used Ranger's "cut and dry" stamp pad and placed the colors pitch black, latte and butterscotch on the stamp pad to get the leopard spot design  then stamped the custom inked pad all around glossy white cardstock.

My base card color is "curry" from Paper Source.
Stamp used is Just for Fun CB 9004 DaVinci Cube copyright 2000

Polka Dots

I thought I would play along with CAS-ual Fridays this week because I wouldn't mind winning the prize from their sponsor DeNami Designs.
I have met Nami at craft shows in Dallas; Her booth is always the most colorful and most fun at the show. I have dropped a lot of money whenever I see her. Each year she comes out with fun new items to buy. Last time I enjoyed her pop up cards and her iconic shopping Mimi stamp.
This challenge is about using polka dots so here goes but please don't ask me where my inspiration came from because I don't know what I was thinking when I made this card!

lavender, celery and gray challenge

I stumbled upon CR84FN Color Challenge Blog and said oh yeah this is a keeper.
I love the colors they are using this week, lavender, celery and gray plus I absolutely adore the little sentiment from Dr. Seuss they included in their picture.
