Decoupaged Red Sox Keepsake Box

As promised here are the pictures for 5 year old Will's birthday keepsake box.

His father is such a big Red Sox fan that he even proposed to his wife using the big screen method, thankfully she was in her seat and saw the giant proposal, not up out of her seat getting popcorn or going to the bathroom; but apparently he was very worried that she was going to miss it.

I am sure that if it was legal he would have conceived his children at a Red Sox game!

Decoupaged Princess Cigar Box

I wanted to give my little 5 year old great niece a "princess" keepsake box.
I used a cigar box I bought for a dollar at a local cigar store.

Well, after peeling off the paper labels, applying a base coat of gesso, a pink coat of paint, I needed to download some images of princesses so off I went to the Disney Wikipage, used their images, printed them on an ink jet printer used a fixative to prevent ink bleed, glued the images, after the images were dry I gave the whole thing a couple of healthy coats of mod podge to seal everything, added some major and minor bling and chipboard flowers, added some princessy items inside the box and finally holy hallelujah I was finished.

Stayed tuned for decoupage cigar box no. 2 a boy's keepsake with a baseball theme tomorrow. Pin It

Altered cigar box

Hi everybody, I wanted to show you all what I made for my grand niece Erin since she is finishing her first year at Yale. She is on the Yale Lacrosse team so I made some personalized note cards that reflect her sport.
My idea was to give her a keepsake box and riff on the idea of Alice in Wonderland. I used Graphics 45 paper to decoupage the cigar box. I wanted to place the words "Erin in Yaleland" on the box so I used Photoshop to make the letters using "curlz" font, mirrored/flipped the words and printed on Graftix "rub-onz" specialty paper which made a great rub-on to place anywhere I wanted on the box.
On the inside I made a paper divider and placed a dozen personalized notecards to one side of the divider and on the other side of the divider a bookmark I made with the Alice theme and a pack of stamps.

I hope she likes it but I know I like it.

Je T' aime

While watching a You Tube video on how to make an oval box I made this box out of letter size gray cardstock. I frenchified it up using marble paper to cover and line my box, added a sheer black ribbon band around the top, used ultra thick embossing powder to make Marie Antoinette's image shine and then applied her to the top of my beautiful oval box.
I went to the Graphics Fairy and found the fleur de lis border which was used on the card; I will give this along with the box. I played around in PS and added the cupid and heart image inside the border with a font called woodcut ornaments and the font for I love you is afternoon delight.

Stationary Box

I watched a You Tube video tutorial from Beate at Splitcoaststampers and made this supah dupah cute stationary box.

The box itself is made from (2) pieces of 12" x 12" kraft colored cardstock and some designer paper.

The strip attached to the front of the box was stamped with Versamark ink and the medallion was stamped in Versafine brown and black then applied with dimensional foam.
I used premade Michael's ivory cardstock sold in packets as my base for the A2 cards.
I made Photoshop brushes from some Graphics Fairy images and printed them onto the cards.
The hang tags and 3" x 3" note cards were made with the same kraft colored card stock.

Not bad for some paper and some time, what says you?

Christmas bakery box and card

Hi Ya'll,
I just have to show you what Cissy made and gave to me.
She made this adorable Christmasy box that had yummy scrummy cheese straws in it. Let's ask her for her recipe.
And she made this precious Christmas card using her Papertrey Ink stamps,  the sentiment "There's no place like HOME for the holidays!, how true Cissy how true. She is one talented little lady.
